Here’s a few shows I found particularly interesting by some of my favorite designers. A lot of them tend to be very avant garde, but I feel there’s one or two things we can take away from the shows (for example, Yohji Yamamoto’s use of oversized knits).
(I’m really dying for the metal cap-toe boots in the McQueen show! I see a project in my future….)
Went to Sunshine Thrift Store with a friend of mine today – first time ever there. Tons of stuff to look at. The plus size section was pretty extensive – much better than Goodwill. But before I get to the goodies (there’s not much, but I did get a few neat things), I have to comment about this one lady at the store.
She had a Louis Vuitton Pochette purse listed at $8.95. I just saw it on Ebay for $90 (and that was with a damaged handle). The LV site has it retailed at about $500. She didn’t buy it – the inside was ‘dirty’ (let me correct her – it was DUSTY). Are you FREAKING kidding me lady?? I’m half tempted to go back, buy it, and sell it.
Anyways, here’s the few items I purchased today. I’m still on the hunt for stuff to wear with my skirts, leggings and boots.
Black plaid jumper with tuxedo pleats down the front, for $6.95.
I also found an unopened blank canvas (for painting on) for $4.95, size 24″x30″! I see a painting in my future…
That’s really about it for purchases today. I had a great time getting out with my friend, doing something we both love. Hopefully we’ll get to do it again soon!
Bought an inverted bat head tshirt at Rue 21 for $5, so I have to break out my Hot Topic skinny jeans and my Dr. Martens for my final exam tomorrow. Belt and buckle bought on Amazon.com.
Today’s outfit is based on a skully tshirt purchased at Aeropostale and a pair of olive green skinny jeans purchased on clearance, I think from Hot Topic. All jewelry was purchased on Ebay.
Today’s outfit is based around a camouflage jacket I got for $9.99 at Anarchist Closet – a thrift store here in town – and clearance distressed grey jeans from Aeropostale. Glasses are the same as the ones I wear every day, and I bought them from EyeBuyDirect.com.
Hello! Those of you who know me off-site know that I just got a new set of synthetic dreads – Yay! I had a set a few years ago and fell in love with them, and am very excited to have a new set.
I chose to go with more natural colors this time around, but I feel that next time, I’ll get more unusual colors added into the mix.
So far, the only downside I’ve had is that when I pull them back, they’re very heavy, so that’s something I’ll have to get used to. Also, I keep leaning back on them, so they pull. I’m just not used to having hair this long!

Just rememberr, everyone, don’t be afraid to try something new. It’s just hair, and it’s loads of fun to play with. Synthetic dreads are temporary, and you can always take them out or change them up as you see fit. The only limit is your imagination! Give them a try!
Our next review will probably have something to do with my contact lens appointment this upcoming week. I’ve never worn them before, so it’ll be a completely new experience for me. I’ll be sure to post a video about it. Until then! Be well!
Todays outfit of the day is based on a red plaid cotton button down I purchased at the local thrift store, a pair of black men’s skinny jeans I bought from Hot Topic, and a trusty pair of Dr. Marten’s boots. Also included are my wrist and neck mala (prayer beads) and a ring I purchased from an African curio shop in Baltimore. Enjoy!
